Online Accredited Degrees
Before you read further, let's clear one thing up:degrees are never accredited; universities, colleges, and schools are accredited. In fact, it is a violation of all accreditation bodies in the United States to state that a degree is accredited.
Many searches for accredited degrees are made online. Perhaps it's because some colleges use phrases like accredited degree or accredited program in their course and program descriptions in brochures and other marketing materials.
So, what should you use to search for online schools with online learning programs that lead to a certification or degree that is valid in the real world but is also certified by an accrediting body? How about accredited online universities or accredited online law schools etc?
The website you are on now has a wide selection of resources for you to choose from in your search. More and more schools are opening online and more and more students or would-be students are more comfortable taking classes online. The whole process is becoming more seamless by the month.
Whether you're looking to pursue a law degree, an MBA degree, or a film editing school, you're bound to find it online. Whichever course you decide to follow, you need to remember that it will still take self-discipline to complete a certified online program that is accredited. Accreditation agencies require evidence that certain core subject and knowledge requirements are being met or exceeded by the program. Content exams will be required. Effort will be required. For some less-disciplined people who would rather not have a private study schedule, doing online coursework will be difficult to impossible.
When evaluating an accredited school or program, look to see if a good part of the instructional materials are video-based with accompanying workbooks and online exams accompanied by moderated forums where students are able to ask questions and get immediate responses for individual classes in the program. The best schools should have these components. If they do have them, the next thing to look for is a sample lesson or two in the same format you will be studying with. Is the video well-made? Is the instructor clear and unambiguous? Is the lesson scripted for the instructor? and very importantly, does the lesson contain visual aids to help you understand the subject matter?
Once you have decided you are ready to pursue an online degree or certification from an accredited school, you will need to pursue the financial help that may be available to you. Monthly or quarterly payment plans are good and perhaps the most flexible. Financial aid may be available through scholarships. Study work programs or discounted tuitions may be available for those who volunteer to moderate study forums for various classes in your program. The company you are currently working for may offer tuition reimbursement plans if you maintain a 'B' average. This is an especially common benefit in hospitals and accounting firms.
Once you have chosen and started an online program, do everything you can to complete it successfully. Web education is quickly coming into its own and now is a great time to learn something new. Forget the online accredited degrees and go for the online accredited schools offering degrees and certifications online. Good luck!
